These 2 days | 14-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid course teaches any adult (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adolescents experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. This course explores the youth mental health practices and provides a practical assessment at the end.

You will learn about the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in young people who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence-based action plan.

Intervene early | Recognise the signs and symptoms of mental health problems in other adults.
Respond in a crisis | Assess for a range of crisis situations and provide initial support and how to respond across a range of crisis situations where an adult may be at risk of harm.
Offer support | Learn the skills to speak openly and accurately about mental health. Use an evidence-based action plan to initiate a mental health first aid conversation.
Reduce stigma | Understand the prevalence and impact of mental illnesses, risk factors and treatments and supports available.
Reduce stigma and increase support for adults experiencing and living with mental health problem.
